The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) is the official trademarks and designs office of the European Union. ESTeam has since 2006 worked together with OHIM and the National Trademark Offices to initiate the OHIM effort of harmonizing and structuring the classification system for trademarks across Europe. ESTeam has provided all the linguistic tools and language processing software and data management in all EU languages for OHIM linguistic projects. The last 4 years ESTeam has been under a framework contract explicitly targeting interoperability and harmonization.
Based on the unique matching and compare algorithms the ESTeam software enables terminology experts to follow a simple working scenario that is efficient. It provides a basis for a complete harmonization between classification systems that have variations but are in the same language. ESTeam software made possible the data processing in EuroClass, the European wide collaboration project on IP terminology between IPR national offices and OHIM.
